The cottages were well equipped and comfortable. It was excellent to have a downstairs toilet in the two bedroom cottage for a family. The welcome tea, coffee, and biscuits were very good as this is not always found on arrival. The quiet rural location and the owls hooting at night made it a relaxing stay. The large, spacious property was comfortable and in a quiet place where we could hear the birds singing. The hosts were friendly and helpful. Tanya, the host, came to our rescue at the last minute when the original property we booked turned out to be of very poor standard.
Some of the garden furniture was rickety, and one chair collapsed because the wood was rotten. The lounge was rather dark for reading and it fronted a lane with passing farm traffic.

We also appreciated the warm welcome we received from the owner, with biscuits and fresh milk waiting for us on arrival.
There were a couple of minor issues during our stay. the cleanliness of the cottage could have been better, as we had to mop the floor upon arrival due to it being quite dirty.

The cottage, Bluebell And Appletree, exceeded my expectations. From the moment I opened the door, I was greeted with warmth and coziness. The double aspect windows in the bedroom allowed natural light to flood in, and the large bathroom with a bath and power shower was a luxury. I enjoyed having breakfast in the garden while watching the birds. The location, near a lovely river, worked well for me. Highly recommended!
